Jumping Rope Brings Back Memories of Being a Kid Again
Jumping rope is a minimal time, high calorie burning exercise.
Remember back to the carefree days as a kid growing up and all of the energy we had? We'd be jumping rope, playing Tag in the yard, playing hopscotch. Nowadays our kids sit in front of computers and play video games.
We need to get back to that physical activity. We can be a good example for our kids and grandkids. Grab a good jump rope and let's go. It's for young and old alike.

There are many ways to get a proper workout without having to spend major amounts of money or blow 3 hours of your day away. Just do it at home! Jumping rope is a portable sport. All you need is a high-quality rope (average price $5 to $15) and supportive shoes.
If you jump rope properly, you're spending all of your time up on the front half of your foot. Your heels should not come down. A little extra cushion underneath the front of your foot will help you avoid discomfort.
The benefits of jumping rope for the heart and lungs are close to those of jogging. And it also increases flexibility, balance, rhythm and timing. Yet unlike jogging or running, there are thousands of skills that you can learn and tricks that you can add while you jump.
As in any sport, if you haven't exercised regularly, be sure to check with your doctor before beginning to jump rope.
