Bottled Water Facts and Filters
Do you want to know some bottled water facts, such as, the United States is the world’s leading consumer of bottled water, with Americans drinking 26 billion liters in 2004 according to a paper published by the Earth Policy Institute in February 2006? According to the Beverage Marketing Corporation’s report “2007 Bottled Water in the U.S.”, shows that this amount has now risen to over 33 billion liters! Did you also know that Americans spend more on their bottled water per gallon than they do for the rising costs of fuel for their vehicle? Don’t complain about the fuel prices if you are not complaining about the price of bottled water. Some interesting bottled water facts I came across is that a study found that tap water is often better regulated than bottled water and has to meet more stringent standards at both the federal and local levels. That’s curious! I would have thought bottled water would have more regulations. A benefit to drinking bottled water is that drinking clean water free of toxins is essential for good health. However, the idea that “pure” water only comes from a bottle is a myth.It is important to drink pure water or as close as you can get. If the water you are drinking is contaminated, then you are harming your health. Filter your own water. Well, today I found out the coolest bottled water facts! I had never heard of bottled water filters. Maybe I’m behind the times and this is not news to you. However, I just had to share it. This all came about because I will be traveling to a conference and it is always an issue to get bottled water. The hotel bottled water is quite expensive and I certainly don’t want to drink the water from the rooms or the convention center. My search came up with a carbon filter for bottled water. Now I can take that bottle and refill it in the hotel room, at the conference centers water table, the restaurants and etc. I’m quite excited. Here is the link
